The 'Bute', serving on the route Wemyss Bay-Rothesay, suffered a technical issue with the rescue boat on March 16, 2025. As a consequence, the following sailings had to be cancelled: Departure from Rothesay at 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. and the departure from Wemyss Bay at 1:05 p.m. and 3:05 p.m. An update was to be provided by the operator CalMac once more information has become available.

Between the evening of March 15 and the early morning of March 16, the RCC's of Salvamento Marítimo in Las Palmas and Tenerife coordinated the rescue of a cayuco and the escort of two others. The crew of the 'Guardamar Urania' rescued 88 people. The migrants were disembarked in Arguineguín. The 'Salvamar Acrux' escorted a cayuco with 61 people to port, and the 'Salvamar Adhara' escorted another boat with 65 migrants on board. The boat people disembarked in La Restinga. On March 14, 2025, the m/v 'Condor' reported a boat, capsized and adrift off Barcelona, with no one located in the water. The patrol boat 'Río Santa Eulalia' of the Guardia Civil was mobilized to the position and carried out a search on the water with negative results. The 'Guardamar Concepción Arenal' took the vessel, named 'BS 3', in tow to Barcelona and pulled it out of the water. The response was coordinated by the RCC of Salvamento Marítimo in Barcelona.
