On the night of Feb 8, the Guardia Civil repored an echo 16 nautical miles from Arguineguín. On Feb 9, the 'Salvamar Adhara' and the 'Salvamar Acrux' rescued the occupants of two cayucos, which were located 60 and 62 nautical miles south of El Hierro. Aboard the boats were 67 and 111 migrants of Sub-Saharan origin. The castaways were tansferred to La Restinga. The 'Salvamar Alpheratz' rescued 50 sub-Saharan migrants and transferred them to Puerto de los Cristianos. On Feb 10 at 1.40 a.m, the 'Guardamar Calíope' arrived in Arrecife with 56 sub-Saharan migrants on boat, who had been rescued from a rubber boat 38 nautical miles northeast of Arrecife in the night.

On Feb 8, 2025, at 8.30 p.m. the bitumen tanker 'Bitu Express', en route from Nouakchott to Cadiz, was diverted to a migrant boat which was heading to the Canary Islands from El Aaiún. The MRCC of Salvamento Marítimo in Las Palmas mobilized the 'Guardamar Urania' to the scene. At 10.12 p.m. the bitumen tanker sighted some lights and located a boat full of people. It was instructed to escort it until the arrival of the 'Guardamar Urania' and not to intervene unless he considered it necessary. At 12.40 a.m. the SAR boat rescued the 60 people on board the rubber boat. The 'Bitu Express' was then released and resumed its voyage. At 3.30 a.m. the migrants were disembarked in Arguineguín.
