Two men were facing assault and burglary charges after alleged incidents on the 'Scout' in Kinsale. At the Bandon District Court, Judge James McNulty granted both men bail with conditions, and they had to attend court again on June 24, 2024. They appeared in court on assault and burglary charges for offences that were alleged to have occurred on board the superyacht on the morning of June 21. Selvin Foley, aged 21, of Coach House, Eastern Road, Kinsale, and Matthew Kiely, aged 22, of St. Elkins Crescent, Kinsale both appeared before Judge James McNulty at Bandon District Court. It was alleged the two men boarded the vessel at the Castlepark Marina on more than one occasion with the intention to steal. They assaulted the captain, but were then apprehended by crew members who detained them until gardaí arrived.
