Captain drunk at the helm

On Dec 1, 2017, the pilot of the "Katrin" alerted the water police in Kiel upon the arrival of the ship on the Holtenau anchorage, that the master obviously was drunk at the helm. Police officers boarded the ship and found during their investigations with a breathalyzer test that he had an alcohol level of 3,29 per thousand. A blood sample was taken from the man, and a safety fine of 2.000 Euro had to be paid. On Dec 2 at 3.40 a.m. the ship could continue the voyage from Sundsvall to New Ross, ETA Dec 5.
