Eletson buys product tanker Meliora Cogito

Wed Feb 03 08:03:42 CET 2016 arnekiel

Brokers say Greece’s Eletson Corp has bought two MR1 product tankers from compatriot company Product Shipping and Trading, part of the Oceanbulk group, for $37m en bloc. Sisterships Morgane and Meliora Cogito are both 37,600 dwt and were built in Korea in 2006, according to brokers’ reports. The vessels will become the smallest vessels in the Greek shipowner’s fleet, which currently consists primarily of LR1 and LR2 product tankers. Last month, Eletson bought two LR1s from Scorpio Tankers for $44m en bloc, the vessels being Senatore and Noemi (both 72,500 dwt, built 2004). It also paid $22.3m for another LR1, Anna Victoria (75,000 dwt, built 2004), from Sweden’s Gotland Rederi.
