On Sep 23, 2019, around 6 p.m. the KNRM Harlingen was alerted for an incident on the Wadden Sea between Harlingen and Kornwerderzand at the height of Zurich in the shipping channel De Boontjes. The 'HK-83-Zuiderzee' was in collision with the charter ship 'Waterwolf' on which the rear mast broke. Besides the emergency services, another charter ship also came to the rescue. The other charter ship which had been in the area immediately went alongside to provide first aid. The lifeboats of the KNRM Harlingen and the salvage ship 'Skua' of the company Noordgat were quickly on site. One injured person was taken off the 'Waterwolf' by a KNRM boat. He had problems with his back and was transported ashore and further to the hospital by ambuance. Both ships proceeded to Harlingen with own power where they were met by the Water & Rail traffic accident analysis. Together with the local units, they investigated the cause of the collision.
