Dangerous chemicals stacked on outer ship's side

Mon Aug 27 23:15:46 CEST 2012 Timsen

During a control on Aug 27, 2012, the Hamburg police discovered nine containers loaded with dangerous goods such as toxic chemicals which were stacked on the outer edge of the ship. According to international rules such goods should be stowed only in protected areas. The mistake was noticed during an inspection of the vessel. The ship was detained to stow the boxes accordingly to the safety rules. The first officer of the ship was cautioned. With a delay of 12 hours the "Hanse Vision" was allowed to leave the CTT destined for St. Petersburg around noon.
