Strait View disabled off Pointe Sain Mathieu
On Feb 8, 2014, the "Strait View", carrying 1,300 tons of soybean oil, with 13 crew members on board suffered engine damage south of the Pointe Saint Mathieu. The vessel, which had left the Gladstone Dock in Liverpool on Feb 5, requested towing assistance on Feb 8 at 2:15 a.m. The French offshore supplier "Alcyon" (IMO: 8104228), which at that time was at anchor in Camaret, proceeded to take the ship in tow The "Strait View" was pulled toward Brest in winds of 30 knots and waves of five meters height and reached the anchorage in the morning of Feb 9.
