On Aug 24, 2019, at 6.20 p.m. the German ferry "Kolberg" was disabled at the berth Landwehr near Schinkel on the Kiel Canal. The suction of a pssing ship pushed the ship under a dolphin, and it got stuck with a heavy lift at its berth and the car deck partially submerged. Whether the ship was responsible for the accident was to be investigated ni Brunsbüttel where the crew will be interrogated on Aug 25. The tug 'Schwartenbek' managed to freed the ferry short past 10 p.m. It turned out that the fixing of a life raft had got stuck at the dolphin. After some welding work, the tug could push the ferry out of the trap. Agfter an inspection she resumed sailing on Aug 25 shprt past midnight, though carrying only pedestrians and bicycle riders at the moment. Start of the week the ferry was to be investigated thoroughly in order to find out if the layout has to be changed in general to avoid a repeating of the mishap.
