Medevac off Cape Arkona
On May 4, 2013, the "Harro Koebke" of the DGzRS-station Sassnitz medevace a crew member of the "Solea" and transferred him to Sassnitz after treatment in the hospital of the lifeboat. The "Solea" had called the DGzRS at 7.50 a.m. after the man suffered health problems while the "Solea" was seven miles north of Cape Arkona. The lifeboat immediately proceeded to the research ship, and a rescue helicopter was dispatched with a medical on boar who was hoisted aboard the "Harro Koeebke" off Lohme/Glowe. The lifeboat went alondside the "Solea" and took on board the patient 40 minutes after the DGzRS was notfied. The patient was further transferred from Sassnitz to a hospital in Stralsund by helicopter.
