Fire crews left scene
The crews of the Hampshire Fire Service have left Southampton docks after over 24-hours of firefighting aboard the "Sirina" at the vehicle terminal in Southampton on May 26. The returned throughout the evening to reinspect the scene of the fire. The firefighters had been working alongside their partners and the port agencies and were recommended for their work. the ship left port on June 20, bound to Gibraltar, ETA June 25.

The Hampshire Fire & Rescue Service Control was alerted after a fire broke out in a hold of the "Sirina" on May 25, 2018, at 2 p.m. The bulkcarrier was berthed at Southampton Western Docks and being loaded with scrap metal, which went on fire during the cargo operations. 60 firefighters from eíght stations and 7.000 tonnes of scrap were involved out of 28.000 tonnes on board. The Southamtpon's coastguard rescue team worked through the night to assist the Hampshire Fire and Rescue at the King George V dock.
