Fishing vessel was stuck off Cuxhaven
On Dec 11, 2019, at 12.30 a.m. the 'Andrea - SD 23' got stuck on stone dam nine miles NW of Cuxhaven. The crew of two alerted the DGzRS in Cuxhaven as the ship was stuck in SSW winds of 5-6 Beaufort which pressed the vessel onto the stones so the fishermen feared that their ship could suffer a leak. The MRCC of the DGzRS immediately sent the lifeboat 'Anneliese Kramer' of the station Cuxhaven to assist. It reached the "Andrea" at 1.15 a.m. and started the recovery in very difficult conditions with ebb tide. The 'Andrea' was stuck perpendicular to the current so it required careful nautical maneuvers and a lot of experience to pull the vessel off, supported by the 230 hp of the daughter boat 'MathiasÄ. The disabled cutter was pulled into the new fishing port of Cuxhaven at 5.15 a.m.
