Wreck prepared for tow to Papenburg breakers

After the "Rothensee" was taken to Haldensleben on Nov 7, salvors continued to patch the breach of 1,5 meters width in the aft of the ship. On Nov 10 on the earliest a tug was to pull the ship to the DA Schiffsverwertung in Papenburg via Mittelland Canal and the Dortmund-Ems-Canal where it will be broken up.

Wreck of Rothensee removed

The wreck of the "Rothensee" was removed from the fairway of the Mittelland Canal and transported to a berth in the morning of Nov 7. Ship traffic was expected to resume around midday. Divers were still checking the fairway for possible debris or damage of the embankment. 60 ships were queuing on both sides of the sinking site.
