Tanker first remotely sold ship

Fri May 08 12:11:40 CEST 2020 Timsen

The 'Cape Beira' has been sold remotely and renamed 'Rolls I by the new Monegasque woners. It was the first ship to be changed hands by e-closing: the negotiation took place entirely by videoconference. The companies, banks and their business lawyers worked with Zoom, negotiating the sale of the tanker for hours, leading to the release, in real time, of all the documentation online, including the exchange of guarantees, payments and confirmation of the same. The Sea World Management of Montecarlo, led by Roberto Corvetta, purchased it in Gibraltar, and the ship was immediately chartered time-charter for a year with an option for a second, and with prevalent operations in the Mediterranean and Northern Europe areas. To assist the parties, the shipfinancing lawyers, Marco Manzone partner of Dardani-law firm in Genoa for the buyer and the Allen & Gledill firm in Singapore were involved. The tanker was enroute from Conakry to Marsaxlokk now, ETA May 11, 2020.
