Tug wreck raised

In the midday hours of Jan 14 the "Phoenix" was raisd in the northern foreport of the Volkerak lock at Willemstad. wInvolved in the operation were the sheerleg "Hebo Lift 7" (EU-No.: 02008680), the "Hebo Cat 12" of the Hebo Maritiemservice and the "Tjerk Hidde". The wreck had previously been surrounded by an oil boom to prevent possible spills. Pusher tug sank following collision off Willemstad

In the evening of Jan 13, 2016, the "Phoenix“, 46 ts (EU-No.: 02315403) sank in Willemstad at the Volkerak lock following the collision with a tank barge. Only the wheelhouse remained above water. The crew could escape in time. The eastern chamber of the lock was barred for ship traffic after the sinking. Rijkswaterstaat prepared the salvage with the sheerleg "Hebo Lit 7" in the morning of Jan 14.
