Ship detained after anchoring unreported

The southern region Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency detained a cargo ship for entering Malaysian waters without permission, about 3.8 nautical miles east of Tanjung Piai, on june 9, 2012. The unladen ship was detained at 1.30 p.m. by MMEA personnel while on routine patrol in the area. There were 22 crew members in the vessel comprising Filipinos, Germans and Slovenians, aged between 22 and 63. The captain and a crew member were brought to the MMEA southern region headquarters to assist in investigations.
