Deckhand fell into lock and drowned
A deckhand of the "Durabo" fell into the water of the Burgemeester Peterssluis in Bergen op Zoom on Apr 2, 2015, and drowned. The accident happened at 5:10 p.m. when the ship was mooring. The vessel had unloaded its cargo in the Theodorus port in Bergen op Zoom and was heading out. Help was soon at hand. The fire rescue and divers of DCN as well as a helicopter were on scene. The barge was pulled out of the lock without using the engine. About 7 p.m. the body of the man was recovered.
