25 kg of cocaine found aboard the "San Clemente".

Wed Dec 19 10:04:39 CET 2018 Timsen

About 25 kg of cocaine was found aboard the "San Clemente". The inspection was conducted on Dec 15, 2018, while the ship was moored at the DP World terminal in Callao. The Peruvian authorities confiscated the drugs found in a black bag containing dozens of packages wrapped in black foil. The drug proved to be cocaine alkaloid. Divers have also performed an underwater inspection of the ship. The ship was on its way from the port of Buenaventura, Colombia, to Puerto Angamos, Chile. The ship remained anchored in pos. 12° 1.38' S 077° 11.83' W off the port since Dec 16.

Christening of the “San Clemente” in Singapore

Sat Nov 15 21:51:45 CET 2014 arnekiel

On Nov. 14 Hamburg Süd celebrated the christening of a further container ship in its “San” class. The official naming ceremony of the “San Clemente” was held at the Marina Bay Cruise Center in Singapore, with customers and business partners. The new container ship’s Sponsor is Wietske Willemijn Wage, wife of Niels Wage, Vice President of Marketing Freight & Potash at our company’s customer BHP Billiton. The naming ceremony was attended by Hamburg Süd Executive Board member Peter Frederiksen. The “San Clemente” is one of Hamburg Süd’s series of three “San” class new builds constructed at the Korean shipyard Hyundai Heavy Industries in Ulsan. Like her sister ships, she has a container slot capacity of 9,034 TEU and 1,370 reefer slots. Like the “San Christobal”, which was christened in August, the “San Clemente” is operating on the service between Asia and the East coast of South America. Hamburg Süd took delivery of the third new build, the “San Vicente”, last week.
