Diana Containerships to sell Puelo
The Diana Containerships has signed through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, a Memorandum of Agreement to sell to an unaffiliated third party the “Puelo”, with delivery to the buyer by latest June 30, 2018, for a sale price of US$20.5 million before commissions. Upon completion of the aforementioned sale and the previously announced sale of a Post-Panamax container vessel, the m/v "Hamburg", Diana Containerships Inc.’s fleet will consist of four container vessels (2 Post-Panamax and 2 Panamax). The Company’s vessels are employed primarily on time charters with leading liner companies carrying containerized cargo along worldwide shipping routes.
Inflammable fluid leaking from container
In the morning of March 28, the "Puelo", being berthed at the Shanghai Shengdong International Container Terminal Ltd. in the Yangshan Deep Water port, Shanghai, reported an inflammable fluid leak from one of the 20’ containers on board which was recently loaded. The crew spotted the leak, alerted authorities and drained the spilled fluid with sponge and rags. The cyclohexane was leaking through faulty valve at a 40 liters per hour rate.
