Allision in Busan

The "Safmarine Nokwanda", coming from Yokohama, allided with the container ship "Tianjin" while berthing at the Busan New Port International Container Terminal PNIT on March 2, 2019, at 8 a.m. She struck the stern of the berthed ship and caused significant cargo damage with a number of containers being crushed and collapsing. Also the stern encountered structural damages. The "Safmarine Nokwanda" suffered bow damages including a breach above the waterline. After temporary repairs were completed, the ship left the port on Narch 3 at 1.45 a.m. and headed to Shanghai, where it arrived on March 4 at 8.15 a.m. Permanent repairs were expected to be completed by the end of March. The "Tianjin" left the port of Busan on March 3 at 3.40 p.m. and headed to Balboa, ETA March 22.
