Container ship rescued yacht crew

In the morning of Ott 6, the Rhodes Port Authority was informed that the 'Lübeck', en route from Limassol to Beirut, had rescued the three crew members of the sailing yacht 'Freedom' in the waters of Karpathos and was heading to the area of ​​Archangelos off Rhodes in order to disembark them. A patrol boat picked up the castaways and transported them safely to the Rhodes port. They had to abandon ship while en route Montenegro where they were to receive a sufficient number of migrants in order to forward them to Italy. The Prosecutor ordered their arrest for participation in a criminal organization and causing a shipwreck. A preliminary investigation is carried out by the Central Port Authority of Rhodes.

After fond insolvency in may 2012 König & Cie. sold tht containership 'Stadt Lübeck' to Costamare for M11.3 Euros. The charter party with CMA-CGM with a daily rate of $5,800 ends in september 2012.
