Joint venture between REEDEREI NSB and OFFCON to manage research vessel

Tue Feb 03 07:07:26 CET 2015 arnekiel

On January 01, 2015 the joint venture between Buxtehude-based REEDEREI NSB and off-shore specialist OFFCON from Kappeln took over the management and crewing of the re-search vessel LITTORINA. Apart from the usual tasks such as nautical and technical in-spections, the scientific-technical service in particular poses a challenge to the team of the two shipping companies. The management of the first vessel is another milestone for the joint venture on its way to becoming a highly specialized maritime services provider for the offshore and research shipping industries. Maintaining, operating and modernizing the research equipment of the LITTORINA re-quires a technically highly skilled, highly reliable team as the prototypes (mostly) are very valuable. In the consortium of the two shipping companies OFFCON will be responsible for the project management of which graduate engineer, Dipl.-Ing. Steffen Staudenmaier will be in charge. Onshore operations will be managed by the offshore specialist from Kap-peln on the Schlei. REEDEREI NSB will be responsible for managing the insurance and controlling of the research vessel. The division of tasks and roles in the joint venture en-sures that customers will benefit from each partner’s core competences. This reflects the philosophy of the recently established company, NSB MARINE SOLUTIONS, which offers modular services for the shipping industry. http://www.hellenicshippingnews.com/joint-venture-between-reederei-nsb-and-offcon-to-manage-research-vessel/
