Wed Jul 31 23:52:00 CEST 2013 arnekiel

On Tuesday, July 30, the HC had ordered the sale of two Indian vessels, MV Kamal 33 and MV Kamal 29. In admiralty suits filed through lawyer Abhishek Khare, captains have asked the court to place the ships under arrest. They want the Mumbai sheriff to sell the vessels and recover dues of about 150 stranded crew members. The dues range from Rs 20.66 lakh to Rs 1.22 crore with 12 per cent interest per annum. A representative of the Ukraine consulate general urged the court not to order the sale of the ship.
