High Court orders sale of indian dredger Kamal 33
On Tuesday, July 30, the HC had ordered the sale of two Indian vessels, MV Kamal 33 and MV Kamal 29. In admiralty suits filed through lawyer Abhishek Khare, captains have asked the court to place the ships under arrest. They want the Mumbai sheriff to sell the vessels and recover dues of about 150 stranded crew members. The dues range from Rs 20.66 lakh to Rs 1.22 crore with 12 per cent interest per annum. A representative of the Ukraine consulate general urged the court not to order the sale of the ship.
Fishing vessel sinks after collision with dredger Kamal XXXIII
The Indian Coast Guard on Monday rescued four fishermen from a boat which wrecked after colliding with a dredger off Kochi. The fishing vessel FV Mother Fathima sunk after it collided with an anchor cable dredger Kamal XXXIII, which was at anchor in the vicinity of the Kochi Harbour. The Coast Guard was intimated of the incident by the port control of Cochin Port Trust.
