Allision in Brunsbüttel

On Dec 6, 2017, at 6.40 p.m. the "Jork Ruler", while enroute from Thamesport to Helsinki, allided with the middle wall of the New Southern Lock in Brunsbüttel upon entering the Kiel Canal. The ship was about to berth at the middle wall when the stern veered to starboard and was caught by strong western winds. The ship's foreship bulkwark hit the middle wall, the starboard side stern slammed into the opposite wall of the lock chamber. Both walls and ship suffered slight damage. The relevant authorities were informed, but no further measures were necessary, and the ship continued the eastbound voyage at 8.25 p.m., ETA Helsinki Dec 8, 6 p.m.

Jork Ruler disabled in Brunsbüttel

Enroute from Helsinki to Teesport the "Jork Ruler" suffered an engine failure due to problems with the cooling water system in the Kiel Canal lock of Brunsbüttel after having entered the New Northern lock at 4.20 a.m. on Jan 11, 2015. The ship was towed out of the lock at 9 a.m. by the tugs "Bugsier 19" and "Parat" and pulled to the Neufeld Anchorage with the "Parat" remaining on standby as a precaution.
