Pleasure boat raised after collision
In the run of Apr 25 the wreck of the 11-m-pleasure boat "Serenia" which sank after it slammed into the bow of the "Imago" was recovered with a crane. Divers pulled slings around the hull so that a crane could raise the boat in the port basinc of Osloß which was then dewatered. The "Imago" continued the voyage to Uelzen in the run of the day. Pleasure boat sank after collision with Imago
On Apr 24, 2018, short before midnight the "Imago", 1165 ts (EU-No.: 02315924), was in collision with a pleasure boat on the Elbe-Side-Canal in a port basin at Osloß. The boat had on board a crew of four intoxicated Romanians, aged between 39 and 61 years, who were underway from Sweden to Greece. The collision was caused by a driving mistake of the skipper of the boat which slammed into the bow of the barge. The "Imago" had sailed from Haldensleben at 3 p.m. and was enroute to Uelzen. She suffered only scratches and dents at the port side bow above the waterline, while the pleasure boat sprang aleak and sank. The boat drivers were rescued without injuries. The damage was some tenthousand Euros. The "Imago" berthed in Osloß for investigations. Besides the police also officials of the shipping authority Wolfsburg were on site. Ship traffic on the canal was not hampered. The boat drivers were accomodated on another ship for the night.
