Ship polluted sea at Diliskelesi

The 'HTM Warrior' caused a water pollution at Diliskelesi on July 7, 2023. Local environmental protection office teams and duty patrol boats attended the scene. Samples were taken from the vessel's main deck bunker supply station and sea surface. A statement was issued by the local environmental protection office as a result of further inspections for both pollution incidents together with sampling and video records. Subsequently, an investigation file was opened and a pollution fine was imposed by the local municipality's environmental pollution prevention department due to a breach of local regulation as per Marpol rules in the amount of 710.000,00 US Dollars. The departure permission of the vessel was temporarily canceled by the Harbour Master till payment of the fine together with cleaning expenses.
