Ship's crew saved woman from the water

Fri Oct 20 10:42:19 CEST 2023 Timsen

On Oct 13, a woman in Bergen, who had climbed over a fence, fell into the water between the Tollboden Quay at Nordnes and the 'Inter Nord'. The cook, the chief engineer and a deckhand took action when the crew on the well boat discovered that a young woman had ended up in the sea at 9.17 p.m. The crew who were on leave became aware of shouts and screams outside. They then observed that there is a person between the dock and the ship. The accident was captured by a camera on the boat at 9.05 p.m., which suggested that she had been in the water with a temperature of 12 degrees for 12 minutes when she was discovered. A rescue operation was launched, and the cook and the chief engineer climbed down to pick up the woman with the help of the fenders. A deckhand called the emergency services. The woman was brought ashore and wrapped in a blanket at 9.21 p.m. The woman appeared exhausted and severely hypothermic. Both an ambulance, ambulance personnel and police have arrived at the scene a few minutes later and took care of her further.
