Defective valve interrupted voyage

Sat Feb 02 15:19:24 CET 2019 Timsen

The "Grande Spagna", en route from Antwerp to Setubal with a crew of 26 on board, suffered a defective valce in the engine room, which needed to be changed in position 51 15 49.2 N, 001 46 46.2 E, on Feb 1, 2019, at 07.30 a.m. The ship moored on Deal Anchorage for repairs. The defect was rectified at noon, and the vessel resumed its voyage to Setubal with an ETA as of Feb 4, 6 p.m.

Engine blackout off Terneuzen

Wed Apr 11 10:14:38 CEST 2018 Timsen

The "Grande Spagna" suffered an engine blackout and was disabled off Terneuzen in the morning of Apr 10, 2018, on the Wester Scheldt. The ship was enroute from Southampton to Antwerp at that time. It was secured by the tugs "Wulf 7", "Multratug 9" and "Union 5" which pulled it out of the fairway and beyond the cable signs, so that passing ship traffic was not hampered. The vehicles carrier then dropped anchor, and at 10.30 a.m. the situation was brought under control. The ship finally berthed at the Antwerp Euroterminal NV at 2.50 p.m. It sailed again on Apr 11 at 6.15 p.m., next being bound to Setubal with an ETA as of Apr 14, 9 p.m. Dutch reports with photos: https://www.schuttevaer.nl/nieuws/actueel/nid28555-autoschip-met-machineproblemen-ten-anker-bij-terneuzen.html https://www.pzc.nl/zeeuws-nieuws/schip-stuurloos-voor-terneuzen~a38dca39/
