The "Tomar" on Jan 24, 2011, was left high and dry on the banks of the Haven at Boston, UK. The ship, with a cargo of 2,000 tons of rebar steel, went aground in the river, adjacent to Pilgrim Father’s Memorial, while entering the port at 9.08 p.m. Short time later the tug "Bostonian" was deployed, but because of the falling tide was unable to free the vessel. The ship lay safely overnight and was re-floated on Jan 25 at 9.45 a.m. and berthed in the Dock Basin. Investigations started, but it appeared there was no damage to the vessel, with no injuries sustained, no damage to the environment and no affect on the traffic in the river.
