Lifeboat had a long tanker tow

On June 17, 2014, the "Erik Bye" assisted the Norwegian tank m/v "Bunkerservice", 257 gt (IMO-No.: 7017351),which had suffered rudder damage in the Bjørn Sound of Fræna. The "Erik Bye“ was called from Kristiansund and reached the shipshort past noon. It took the vessel in tow and headed southward in the direction of Ålesund, from where the lifeboat "Emmy Dyvi“ was approaching and took over the tow to Langevåg.
