Eems Transporter back to sea after one month
On June 6, 2011, repairs to the "Eems Transporter" were completed at Emden, and the vessel departed for its first voyage after its grounding on Apr 3 0.5 miles north of Diafani Karpathos off Karpasos island enroute from Iskenderun to France with a 2563 mt steel cargo. After she was refloated, she was towed to Emden and drydocked at Neptun dock for the repairs of the severe bottom damage suffered in the "high speed grounding". The ship reached Amsterdam on June 10 and proceeded further to Immingham where it berthed on June 11 and departed for Bremen two days later.

On April 3 2011 m/v Eems Transporter ran aground 0.5 nm N off Diafani Karpathos port, Karpasos island, Med. Vessel with 2563 mt steel cargo on board was enroute from Turkey to France. No pollution reported. No other news on the vessel’s situation, but judging AIS data, vessel is still aground as of morning Apr 5.
