Container loss in North Pacific
The "Dolphin II" lost at least 20 containers in stormy weather in the North Pacific 300 miles off the Kuril Islands in pos. 45 10N 158 50E on Jan 21, 2016. The ship was carrying over 2,900 TEU and suffered damages to the railings and securing lines, which caused the loss of the containers, as well as shifting of others. It was being en route from Busan, where she had sailed on Jan 16, to the Panama Canal, ETA Feb 6. The vessel changed course to keep the wind on the stern until weather improvement and passage through the storm. The ship resumed the voyage to Panama, after it was estimated that there was no danger for the other cargo and ship.
