Container ship arrived in Kaoshiung after fixing engine trouble

Tue Apr 07 11:35:46 CEST 2015 Timsen

The "Bomar Regent" suffered engine trouble while traversing the Pacific Ocean east of Panganiban town on Mar 24, 2015, which had departed Davao Port enroute to Kaoshiung. The ship’s main engine suddenly stopped for an unknown reason, with the chief engineer making several attempts to troubleshoot the engine but it would not restart. Coastguard personnel went to Panganiban and boarded a motorized banca to try to render assistance to the distressed vessel but had to turn back due to big waves and rough seas in the area. The vessel was anchored about 3.8 nautical miles northeast of Panay islanf and wallowing in waves upto four meters. The ship finally arrived in Kaoshiung on Apr 1 after repairs and berthed at the Evergreen Pier 116 Container Terminal short past noon.
