Engine trouble off Las Palmas

Enroute from Antwerp, where she had sailed on Jan 17, 2018, bound to Ambriz, the "FWN Ruby" with a crew of seven on board suffered engine trouble 5.6 miles NE of La Isleta (Gran Canaria) on Jan 25 and requested assistance. Salvamento Maritimo deployed the SAR ship "Miguel de Cervantes" which took it in tow and pulled it to the port of Las Palmas, where it was docked by port tugs at 1.30 p.m. After repairs the ship resumed the voyage on Jan 26 at 12.50 a.m., ETA Angola Feb 7. Medevac off Brest

On Apr 23, 2014 , around 12:30 a.m. the CROSS Corsen was alerted by the Dutch MRCC Dutch and the center of maritime medical consultation Toulouse that a sailor aboard the cargo "Flinter Ruby" suffered vomiting and had to be evacuated. The vessel was 105 nautical miles from Brest . The CROSS Corsen dispatched a Cayman helicopter of the Naval Air Station Lanvéoc - Poulmic which arrived on scene at 1.35 p.m. and hoisted the patient, a 30 year old Russian. He was delivered at the hospital Cavale Blanche in Brest at 2.40 p.m.
