More engine trouble in Rotterdam
On Jan 5, 2012 the "Atagun" encountered more problems as she had to be anchored in the middle of the Caland Canal as "dead ship", off the quay of the EECV (Europoort). The "RPA 15" of Rijkswaterstraat was sent for assistance, immediately followed by the tugs "Smit Ebro" and "Smit Cheetah". Both tugs connected to the tanker, but it took a while before the ship could be towed away because it experienced difficulties in raising the anchor. The tanker was finally pulled to the the Amazon port and moored at berth no. 8030. Already on Jan 4, 2012 the ship had suffered engine problems and was then towed to Vlaardingen.
