Ferry suffered ramp damage

On July 10, 2024, at noon the Central Port Authority of Piraeus was informed about the malfunction of the port side ramp of the "Blue Star 1" in the port of Piraeus. The ship was on a scheduled route from the ports of Thira-Ios-Naxos-Paros with 1036 passengers on board. Following the presentation of a certificate of class maintenance by the classifier attending it, the ship set sail in the afternoon hours to carry out its scheduled route.

Cable jammed propeller

In the early morning of May 4, 2024, the Central Port Authority of Piraeus was informed about a cable jamming the propeller of the 'Blue Star 1' in the port of Piraeus. An inspection was carried out by a diving crew, and the obstruction was removed from the ship's propeller shaft. Upon presentation of a certificate of class maintenance by the monitoring classification society, the ship departed from the port of Piraeus with 1229 passengers on board for its scheduled route to the ports of Syros, Patmos, Leros, Kalymnos, Kos and Rhodes.

Adverse weather continues to hamper ferry service

After the 'Blue Star 1', which had hit the central pier of the port of Naxos on Nov 27, with its starboard side stern and continued its scheduled route to the ports of Paros and Piraeus with 523 passengers and 81 crew members on board after being re-certified, on Nov 28 at noon the ferry was unable to disembark the vehicles at the port of Naxos en route from the ports of Piraeus and Paros due to adverse weather conditions despite two attempts to re-approach the port. The ship finally set sail to continue its approved route to Ios and Thira. At the port of Ios, 31 passengers, six vehicles and threetwo-wheelers were waiting to board, while aboard the ship, 39 passengers and eleven 11 vehicles were waiting to disembark.
