Adverse weather continues to hamper ferry service

Wed Nov 29 10:22:02 CET 2023 Timsen

After the 'Blue Star 1', which had hit the central pier of the port of Naxos on Nov 27, with its starboard side stern and continued its scheduled route to the ports of Paros and Piraeus with 523 passengers and 81 crew members on board after being re-certified, on Nov 28 at noon the ferry was unable to disembark the vehicles at the port of Naxos en route from the ports of Piraeus and Paros due to adverse weather conditions despite two attempts to re-approach the port. The ship finally set sail to continue its approved route to Ios and Thira. At the port of Ios, 31 passengers, six vehicles and threetwo-wheelers were waiting to board, while aboard the ship, 39 passengers and eleven 11 vehicles were waiting to disembark.
