Water ingress on the Neckar
On March 27, 2018, at 11 a.m. the "Tesco 9“, 1300 ts (EU-No.: 02314212), suffered water ingress in the engine room on the Neckar river close to the lock Neckargemünd. About 30-40 cbm water had flooded into the ship which was loaded with a cement product. The master alerted the fire brigade and the German Life Saving Society (DLRG). As a precaution, an oil boom was laid out aronud the ship at its berth before the oil-water mixture was drained and pumped onto tank trucks.
