Grounding on Gent-Terneuzen Canal
On Sep 9, 2017, at 11.45 a.m. the "Begonia Seaways", which had sailed from Gothenburg to Terneuzen on Sep 8, was disabled due to a blackout of the electricity and ran aground on the Gent-Terneuzen Canal at the Sluiskil bridge on the side of Terneuzen. Two tugs and a boat from Rijkswaterstaat were on the spot to assist refloating the ship. At 1.30 p.m. the captain accepted a towing contract of Multraship, and the ship was pulled out of the embankment by some tugs within 15 minutes. At 2 p.m. the ferry berthed at the Zevernaar port Verbrugge. The ship traffic on the canal was delayed. Ferry allided with fairway buoy
On Mar 9, 2016, at 5.15 p.m. the "Begonia Seaways" allided with a red fairway buoy off the beach of Flushing and got very close to the shore thereby. Damage remained, however, rather small.
