Grounding on the Scheldt
On Sep 15, 2013, around 4:10 p.m. the "Arizona" ran aground on the Easter Scheldt with low water. The KNRM lifeboat from Hansweert was just underway from Wemeldinge bcak to its station when they noticed the grounding of the ship which was loaded with containers and had got stuck at Vlije. Also the "RWS 75" of Rijswaterstaat was on scene. At 5:30 p.m., the "Arizona" refloated with the rising tide, and the ilifeboat returned to Hansweert.
