Cocaine in rudder department

Tue Feb 24 09:20:24 CET 2015 Timsen

The Colombia Coast Guard found 102 kilos of cocaine in the rudder compartment of the "Prisco Alexandra" in Cartagena on Feb 23. The vessel was at anchor when a Navy patrol spotted suspicious activity in the rudder area. Along with the briefcase containing the drug, two men of Colombian nationality were found and arrested, carrying sacks of food with them. Presumably they sneaked into the vessel with cocaine, knowing the vessel’s destination, which was Baton Rouge, ETA Feb 2. On Feb 24 the tanker was still anchored in the Bay of Cartagena, the departure may have been delayed until the investigation was finished. As there was oo report on arrest of any of the crew or suspicions, most probably the crew was guilty of negligence only.
