Medevac off Strande
In the afternoon of March 14 a crew member of the 'Alkor' was suffereing from cardiac problmes, while the ship was sailing on the Kiel Fjord, about 0,75 nautcial miles off Strande port. At 2.45 p.m. the ship requested assistance from the lifeboat 'Berlin' in Laboe. The MRCC in Bremen requested an ambulance and an emergency doctor, and the daugheter boat 'Steppkte' immediately headed to the 'Alkor'. Its crew started with medical care on board the research vessel, while the 'Berlin' followed with the emergency doctor. After the patient was stabilized, he was transferred to Laboe port aboard the 'Berlin' and transported to a hospital for further care.
