Pilot boat capsized during assistance to tanker

During the attempt to pick up a pilot from the "Sten Nordic", a Finnish pilot boat capsized in rough seas in the Gulf of Finland, south of Porvoo Lighthouse on Dec 8, 2017, and was floating bottom up in the sea. The crew of two was missing. The merchant ship failed to assist in a rescue mission which also included two helicopters, several pilot boats and the lifeboat „Rescue Aktia Porvoo“ (MMSI: 230012240). The Finnnish Coastguard vessel "Turva" had the on scene command. Divers of the Navy and the Coastguard tried to penetrate the 15-m-boat. The Coast Guard would attempt to reverse the vessel. After turning the boat, it would be clear whether the missing crew was stuck inside the boat.
