Commando surfaced again

Fri Feb 24 09:08:04 CET 2012 Timsen

On Feb 23, 2012, the "Commando", which had sunk on the Nieuwe Maas at the Van Brienenoord Bridge at river km 993, was raised by the sheerleg "Ajax" of Mammoet Maritime. The wreck was situated 200 meters from the shore. The Harbour Service Rotterdam regulated ship traffic at the accident site. The ILenT (Inspectie Leefomgeving en Transport) launched an investigation. Once the "Commando" was above water, it was taken alongside by the tug "Groenland" and pulled to the IJ.V.C. Bolnes Yard.
