Ship ran into embankment of Kiel Canal
On Feb 20, 2025, at 5.30 a.m. the 'Jia De Chang He', ballasting en route from Aliaga to Tallinn, ran into the embankment of the Kiel Canal at the switch in Dückerswisch during the eastbound transit one hour after leaving the lock in in Brunsbüttel. The pilot had reported rudder problems. The tug 'OSK Rendsbuerg' (IMO: 9755567) was called to pull the bulk carrier out again, and at 8.30 a.m. thd ship was straight in the fairway. It was permitted to proceed to Kiel, where it moored on Holtenau Anchorage for investigations. On Feb 21 at 1 a.m,. UTC the ship resumed its voyage with an ETA as of Feb 22.
