Medevac off Jobourg
On Sep 6, 2015, around 5:30 p.m. the CROSS Jobourg coordinated a rescue operation 40 nautical west of Joburg. The "Cobalt Water" which had left Rotterdam bound for Aveiro, reported that one of his crew members, aged 66, complained of chest pain. The maritime medical coordination (SCMM) in Le Havre decided to send a medical team to the ship. The CROSS Jobourg dispatched an EC-225 helicopter of the Navy base in Maupertus with a team of the medical center of the army in Querqueville on board. At 6:40 p.m., the helicopter headed towards the ship which altered its course towards the coast. At 7:40 p.m., it was decided that the patient had to be hoisted. At 8:15 p.m. the helicopter landed at the hospital Cavale Blanche, Brest.
Medevac off Borkum
Between the Borkum and Rottumeroog, the lifeboat "Alfried Krupp" medevaced the second engineer who was seriously injured on June 25, 2011. He had suffered severe burns to the upper body, arms and legs, while his ship was in the wake of the Westerems running seaward. The traffic control Ems informed the MRCC Bremen about the emergency. In Eemshaven he was handed over to an ambulance.
