The lifeboats of the KNRM stations Terschelling and Harlingen on Aug 9, 2013, assisted the "Alexandra" which had sprung aleak and had an injured aboard near the Verversgat 10 on the Wadden Sea. The charter vessel with 17 people on board had been anchored at the Wad. One of the crew while retrieving the anchor tjereby suffered a severe head injury. The captain decided to sail straight to Harlingen. During the Transit it was discovered that there was more than a meter of water in the forepeak, and he notified the Coast Guard. The lifeboats of West Terschelling and Harlingen were alerted and headed towards the charter vessel which steered towards the shallows of the Wadden. The lifeboat "Tempest" was first on scene and tranferred a dewatering pump onto the ship. The lifeboats "Valentine" and "Veronica" from Harlingen arrived a few minutes later and cared for the injured crewmember. Meanwhile also the lifeboat "Arie Visser" and the rescue vessel "Typhoon" arrived at the casualty. When the water ingress was under control, the "Alexandra" headed for Harlingen. A Bristow helicopter with a medical on board meanwhile headed for the ship. The medical examined the injured and in consultation with the Coastguard it was decided to keep him on board as the injuries were less severe than expected and the port of Harlingen was in sight. In the port of Harlingen an ambulance was ready to transfer the injured crewmember to hospital. After the passengers were disembarked, the "Tempest" escorted the "Alexandra" to a yard where it was drydocked in the afternoon.
