Ship in danger after cargo liquified
The 'Zhong Chang He Sheng' issued a distress signal in the afternoon of Aug 27, 2020, reporting liquefying of the cargo of nickel ore and danger of capsizing. The ship was the in East China Sea north of the Senkaku islands, en route from Surigao to Lianyungang. It changed course and headed for the Chinese coast, heading for Ningde in an attempt to keep wind and sea at favourable angles. She was approached by Chinese SAR ships and continued sailing with reduced speed.
