Bulk carrier stabilized

The 'Clipper Como' was no longer in danger of sinking on Sep 19. The ship has now been anchored. No one was injured in the collision, which left a large hole in the hull. The situation has now been stabilized, and the ship was back on even keel. The 'Levantes' was meanwhile appproaching Port Said with an ETA as of Sep 20.

Bulk carriers in collision off Boczaada

The 'Clipper Como', en route from Jorf Lasfar to Samsun with phosphate as cargo, was in collision with the Marshall Islands flagged bulk carrier 'Levantes' (IMO:9244829) in the night of Sep 17,, 2021, about 10 nautical miles off Bozcaada. The ship was breached at port side, started taking in water and was in danger of sniking. It was down by the bow and developed a list. No pollution was reported to date, no injuries either. The Çanakkale Ship Traffic Services,deployed the tugs 'Türkeli' and 'Kurtarma 13' as well as the lifeboat 'Kiyem 1' to assist. On Sep 18 at midday the ship was moored in pos. 39° 46.60' N 025° 58.89' E. The 'Levantes' was en route from Novorossyisk to Port Said with a cargo of wheat. Crew tested negative for COVID 19

18 Bulgarian crew members of the 'Sredna Gora,' were negative tested on COVID-19 after one man was medevaded to a medical center on April 17 for respiratory problems. The Uruguayan Navy had supervised the evacuation of the patient from the bulk carrier ship, which was 20 kilometers from the port of Montevideo. The other 18 crew members were in quarantine on the ship in the anchorage area until the possibility of positive COVID-19 was ruled out. As the crew member tested negative for COVID-19, the ship was able to operate and left for the port of Nueva Palmira with an ETA as of April 21. The ship had arrived in Montevideo last week from Santos.
